The High Renaissance with Swords, Sorcery and Guns!

Introduction to High Renaissance Fantasy Setting

In the year 1501, at the beginning of the High Renaissance, a celestial event forever changed the world. A brilliant comet streaked across the sky, passing impossibly close to the Earth, disrupting the natural order. The event caused a ripple between planes of existence, blending the realm of humanity with the mythical and the arcane. As a result, creatures once thought to be legend—dragons, elves, fey, and other fantastical beings—now roam the lands of Europe, mingling with a society at the peak of artistic and intellectual achievement.

Noble courts may now be home to both Renaissance scholars and ancient Fey beings, while wizards and alchemists rush to harness the new magical energies seeping into the world. Cities stand at the crossroads of human and supernatural influence, their streets crowded with merchants, adventurers, and creatures from other planes. Italy, France, and the Holy Roman Empire face a new frontier as they navigate both political intrigue and the resurgence of primal magic.

In this world, you are a part of history reshaped by magic. Whether you are a human seeking to understand the mysteries of this new world, a Feyborn creature thrust into a strange new society, or a powerful wizard wielding arcane forces, your destiny is tied to the ongoing transformation of Earth. This is a world where the clash of swords, the whisper of spells, and the ambitions of men and gods alike shape the future.

Welcome to the Renaissance as you’ve never imagined it.
