What is Zavros' goal in terms of profit? Particularly, profit from adventuring? Is Zavros looking for a big haul one-off or a larger cash flow all the time from a different adventure focus? The underwater temple might serve both knowledge and loot goals.



ooc: Old school D&D had a lot more gold for a reason -- xp was paid out for treasure, not killing monsters. But many house-ruled that it had to be treasure brought back to civilization and spent. Spent money gained XP. While 3E was a more solid game, d20 wise, killing for xp triggered murder-hoboism.

just a note for clarity, if the group had left at least a day earlier, you could have attempted the task of liberating the Caravanserai, but you didn't leave until 3 days after receiving the task.

Where is everyone spending the night? I know Zavros is staying on the ship in the captains cabin, since the crew typically sleeps off the ship when on shore leave.

Yes, but we ran the risk of violating another oath we took by doing that (promise to Helena). We tried various magic to guide whether we could leave early, but it wasn't clear that we could or that we needed to since magic that foresees the future is unclear. We were either going to gamble with Althir's promise or Zav's commitment. When the dice didn't go our way, something bad was going to happen. Zav ended up failing his task as a result.

With Zav staying in the captain's quarters and Ivar & Axar having state rooms that leaves 2 open state rooms. Althir is obviously staying at his home.

Does Hildegard stay at the temple?

Morgan gets a huge invite since he can cook some meals for everyone so we don't eat rations. That would also leave Shale a room as well unless Hildegard stays on the ship.

If all of my crew and trainers are off the ship at night Zavros will cast Detect Evil and Good and then walk throughout his ship to make sure everything is okay.
