Once everyone has returned to the courtyard after getting their rooms the guard captain 'harmphs' before turning and leading the way back out to the street. He leads the party to a larger street and then on into nicer and nicer parts of town. Eventually after several minutes of walking you arrive before the gates of the king's castle. As you enter through the gates you find yourselves in a large courtyard. People are moving about busy with work, except for one individual. A fair-skinned halfling girl with curly brown hair is over in a corner polishing a set of plate armor. The captain calls out as soon as he spots her. "Corporal! Stop mucking about with that. Ye can finish it later. Right now I need you to......... escort these distinguished people for their visit." Turning back to the party he adds, "The corporal will show you around from now on. I'll go let the proper folks know you're here. You can wait just inside the hall over there." He points to a doorway just past the corporal in the corner. He then turns and stops off into the castle proper.

The Halfling, cloth still in hand, snaps off a not entirely sincere salute. "Aye, Aye CAP. Shall i fetch them some warm milk and tuck them into bed too, SIR? I'm fresh out of lavender scented flannel jammies, though. They'll have to provide their own." She sighs and turns to the party. "Sorry, not your fault. Amelia Blackwood, Corporal in the Tintagel City Guard. Please, have a seat."

Tia laughs, softly so as to prevent the sound from carrying very far, "Oh, I have wanted to say similar to many before. Greetings, I am Tia Bathen, of The Unicorn Springs in Vanarch."

'Small one, I got the impression that the Captain does not wish us to be here. Is that a fair assessment?" Though clearly attempting a softer tone of voice, this merely means that Barrabus' words carry only to the other side of the couryard and not to the outer edge of the city.

"I would say, yes. That is a fair assessment. Captain Assr....ATHREN really doesn't care for much beyond himself. Thus why he foisted the responsibility of escorting your group at the first possible moment onto his least favorite guardsman. gets me out of polishing armor for the third week in a row." She glances at Tia. "Vanarch, eh? What's it like there?"

Zeraq stares upward at the sun, to make sure its place is still in the sky. He looks at Corporal Blackwood with confusion.
"Why would you be required to tuck us into bed? The day has barely begun. Is that a local custom I have not heard of?" His brow wrinkles as he failed to remember anything like that last time he visited the city.

She looks at Zeraq. "It was a...You really don't get sarcasm, do you? " She rolled her eyes at Athren. "are you familiar with the care of infants known as babysitting? I was saying that he is throwing the responsibility of caring for you onto me, much like an irresponsible parent givign care of their child to a stranger."

"I understand sarcasm is a form of lying. I avoid speaking anything but the truth as I see it."
    Zeraq replies, perfectly straight faced.
"I am curious how you see this as babysitting, because unlike infants we are well armed and possess combat experience."

"I am not debating the meaning of sarcasm at this time. It would take until I am an old woman for you to understand it, and I am sore and hungry and don't have time for that." She looked over the party, guaging your strength. You notice that she carries a rapier, warhammer, and a shortbow, as well as a tome strapped into a holster on her thigh "No doubt you can hold your own in a fight. It's more of a guard reference. Escort duty is often called babysitting, since I am as responsible for you as a babysitter is for a baby. I assume that he was your assigned escort here in Tintagel?"

"You would assume correctly. However, I want to know the contents of the tome you wear. I have never seen one on a person so heavily armed. Are you trained in the arcane arts as well?" Zeraq asks, while choosing to ignore the sarcasm explanation. He had never understood why people did that anyway.

"Correct. I am what is called a Magus. I have skill both with magic and with blade. The book is my spellbook and...." She whistles and a small red fox stretches and saunters over from where it had been napping. "This is my familiar, Daria."
    The fox yipped at her.
"I don't care, Ms. Grumpybrush. Mind your manners."
    Another yip.
"Daria. Do you want to spend the night with the Katie again?"
    Terrified yip.
    "Okay then. Be polite."
The fox bows slightly to you.

Keedra watches and listens to the exchange, mildly amused and somewhat intrigued by the cute little corporal.

Moving through the doorway the captain pointed to reveals a small waiting area with some chairs and a couch. It's more comfortable in the waiting area then out in the sun at least. Several hours go by until lunchtime rolls around. There's no sign of the captain, nor has anyone come to get you for this supposed meeting.

Zeraq finishes his hourly praise of the giant ball of holy fire in the sky (only 1/2000th of the glory of Feronia) to see nothing has happened. He frowns more than usual and decides to fix that.
"I will find someone who can assist us, and possesses the fortitude to do so." He announces as he begins to march down the hallway while looking in each room he passes for a guard or servant. Once he finds one he approaches them regardless of what they are doing and grabs their attention by knocking his gauntlet into his breastplate to make a loud ringing noise.
"Greetings servant of the city of Tintagel. Where is your superior so my comrades and I may discover the status of our aid, and the effect of the Oracles words?"

Amelia is still with your party. "I bet the Captain went to lunch or a meeting and completely forgot about you. One moment." She heads into another part of the castle and emerges with a bulging sack. "I know it's just leftovers, but I did what I could." The corporal has scavengend some leftover ham, bread, and cheese, along with some apples and a jung of water. "Here. Tintagel's famous hospitality." She sits and eats with the rest of you.

The second door Zeraq looks in, he spies a young lady in very modest clothing who appears engages with some activity. She's looking down at the bundle of cloth in her hands and doesn't seem to react to either the loud ringing or Zeraq's words.

This appears familiar. Zeraq had met someone once who had lost their hearing and so had to be talked to another way than normal. Carefully Zeraq steps into the woman's line of sight and waved his hand near her, but not too quick so he wouldn't spook her.

The young lady looks up, clearly surprised to be bothered while she's working. She smiles somewhat hesitantly, clearly uncertain what you could want from her.

The inquisitor makes sure his lips are visible as he slowly speaks and restates his request for the location of anyone who might know what's going on. He knows that most likely she doesn't know anyone so he keeps his questions simple and asks for her superior or anyone of equivalent rank.

The girl looks at you and shrugs. She then motions with her fingers in an odd way before going back to her stitching.
