Katharinas blade flashes quicker than the eye can see and half a second later, the trolls head rolls across the floor, closely followed by the crashing of the heavy corpse.

With the hoarse grunting of the trolls silenced, Shalelu and Jakardros slowly emerge from the side chamber, bows still drawn and ready to fire. Seeing the smoldering corpses and the decapitated troll, Jakardros nods appreciatively and says, "Impressive! You'd make fine rangers if you ever grow tired of walking Varisia thin in search of evil to slay..."

Don't you mean: Are we ready to troll on? Katharina asks smirking uncharacteristically. Her seemingly intoxicated behavior because of Black Maga's breath still present.
She twirls her blade and prods the fallen trolls as if to make sure they're really really dead.

"Holy hells," Joyya blurts, eyes agog. "Did you jus' make a joke?!"

The dwarf chuckles before adding, "Nows I know I've seen everythin'!"

The three trolls that were taken out first, are burned to a crisp, thanks to Amadeus' pyrotechnics. The last troll to fall is still relatively intact - except that it is missing its head, of course. On closer inspection, Katharina notices that the some of the wounds on the trolls corpse are already closing up, suggesting that its regenerative ability is still working even in its decapitated state. She is not sure whether it can grow a new head - or whether the old one can be reattached, but if so, she supposes that the body would somehow have to locate the head first where it landed a few feet away. It is not clear how or if that could even work.

Well that's weird. Katharina remarks as she watches the decapitated troll start to heal. She doesn't for long though. Instead calling upon her god given gift of fire to launch a fire bolt at the body, hoping to stop the regenerative process.

Paulo wipes his blades on the nearest troll corpse, and raises an eyebrow at Katharina's quip... "Our friend has taken an extra draught of Magga's cloud!" he chuckles, shaking his head.

He flinches away as the Executor-ess?...Executress?...launches fire at the troll. "What the hells...since when have you been able to do that??!" he exclaims...brushing some ash from his leather armor.

As is his wont, he starts looking through the piles of rubble, broken weapons, and any significant bits of troll for anything of value.

Paulo takes a cursory look around, kicks some of the loose rubble away and picks through the charred remains of the trolls, but find nothing of value. The few weapons lying around are crude and apparently belonged to the ogres, whose corpses litter the floor. The trolls themselves attacked you with tooth and nail and not weapons. If these trolls have any valuable possessions, they must be stowed away somewhere.

Katharina's burst of fire seems to have done the trick for the last remaining troll - the flames lick over the headless wounded corpse stopping the regenerative process altogether.

    She shrugs.
Always. But I don't use it much. A sword to the face is often way more efficient. Bit of an answer to all problems...

Paulo kicks a bit of rubble, unable to hide his disappointment at not finding anything interesting or shiny. "Might'as well," he shrugs and looks at the doors to the south.

"I don't imagine there's anything in this building that's not aware of our presence now, but let me check it out." He walks over to each set of doors to the south to check them out, and peer inside each if he can.

Paulo investigates the passages to the south and discovers a series of chambers connected by massive stone doors. Judging by the apparent age of this ancient structure, the chambers and doors have stood the test of time reasonably well - still wear and tear is showing. The rooms to the south are nearly clogged with thick coils of the strange, vinelike fungal growths, transforming the chambers into a miniature jungle that reeks of damp mold and rot. The southeasten room has partially collapsed away, leaving a treacherous-looking gap in the wall overlooking the lake far below.

The central room to the south has three round windows giving a look over the southern view from Skull's Crossing. Additional skull carvings decorate the walls, ceiling, and even the floor. In the middle of the north wall stand massive stone double doors, their smooth surfaces smeared with graffiti written in dried blood. ((Any of you able to read Giant?))

The giant double doors are heavy and their hinges old and gritty. But with common effort, Katharina and Joyya manage to pry them open. Behind the doors, a flight of ancient crumbling stairs lead down into the darkness...
