    Default Round 2, cont'd - Round 3

Laera fires her trusted magic missile at the horrid thing, but for some reason the dart of force does not seem to have the expected impact. Normally, it is plain to see how the magic smashes into her selected target, but this time the energy seems to dissipate harmlessly upon impact.

Ino does not fare much better - her aim is not that good and Chuck is in the way of a clear shot, even if she can't see him.

Chuck is much more successful. He suddenly reappears right in front of the creature the second he plants his giant axe into its shoulder. He does seem to damage the creature, but not as much as expected from the forceful strike - the monstrosity seems to be able to shrug off some of the impact of Chucks axe as well.

At Galins command, a ghostly writhing chain suddenly grows out of the ground behind the creature and starts to wrap itself around its ankles. Still reeling from Chucks strike, the thing is off balance and the chains cause it to tip over and lie sprawling on the floor. The creature appears to be unfazed by the unexpected attack from behind.

    Round 3:
The oppenent does not remain prone for long. It immediately begins to rise again (Chuck is entitled to an AoO) and once on its feet resumes its pounding on Chuck. It just keeps going as relentlessly as an automaton.

((Your turn again. Chuck is back in the visible world - but he has a +2 bonus to his next attack thanks to Galins aid))

Laera steps up onto the table behind Galin and draws her crossbow. Lining up a shot, she tries to shoot over Chuck's head to hit the creature.

Ino sighs from her continued misses but tries again regardless. Sheer probability was on her side, right?

    Default Round 3, cont'd

Chuck strikes the gruesome creature as it scrambles to its feet and delivers a another follow-up blow. The creature is not particularly difficult to hit when your are standing right in front of it swinging an axe, but somehow it seems like the dead tissue that makes up the creatures body absorbs the brunt of the hits. You are winding it down, but the going is slow and tedious.

Hitting the creature from away with bolts and stones is much harder, as Ino and Laera discover. Having Chuck stand in the bottle neck of the corridor keeps his teammates relatively safe (for the time being), but he also blocks much of the view towards the target and makes it more difficult to hit from behind. Ino and Laera both miss.

    ((Galin is up))

Nodding his head, Galin recognizes this setup should fell the creature relatively soon if they persist, but this time, he feels a little more sinister and uses the wand's darker side. "We'll fell this 'ere creature fast Chuck; ye take 'nother swing n' we're sure t' see its corpse!"

Actions: Galin will use another charge of the Wand of Barbed Chains, but this time he will attempt to use the damage portion. Also, he will again sacrifice his move and use the combat advice to Chuck (+2 bonus on next attack or save).
