Tarsus, N Human Cleric of Sarenrae.

    ————
    Backstory:
Tarsus was born a Misthaven street urchin to a father he would never know, and a mother he would never love. This is all he knew of himself and the world, as every day the scrawny child fought and clawed his way through life, stealing what he could, when he could.

One cold, wet eve, as he searched for a dry place to sleep, Tarsus climbed up to a window and saw an immense kitchen, lit only by the fading light sneaking in with his gaze. Moments later, the boy had pried open and climbed through the window. His mouth and pockets brimming with bread, fruit, and cheese, he roamed the stone halls, grabbing pieces of silver and crystal as he found them. The smooth floor beneath his bare feet was warm and inviting; a home he was not entitled to. As he rounded a corner he saw a woman, with a light around her as if she were the sun itself — Sarenrae incarnate. He would later come to realize that she was merely a young priestess standing in front of a lantern, and to this day he laughs at the thought. He's never forgotten it, nor the slap she gave him across the cheek, sending spittle and bits of half-chewed bread and cheese sputtering across the hallway.

    For stealing, she'd said.

Everything else she'd given him — years of training and a mother's love — was given for the glory of the sun goddess. He worked the kitchen that he’d once stole from. He studied scriptures and scrolls. He trained on the sword and on the shield. He learned to speak the love of Sarenrae, if not to feel it.

    For redemption, she'd said.

And then he left. A life in the temple was too selfless, too restrictive. He knew nothing in the street, but even then he knew more than the priests. And so, Tarsus left the temple to continue his redemption in the eyes of the sun goddess, and to both bring to and take from Misthaven what it refused him so long ago.

A life worth living, he'd said.

    Sarvine Namia, Tiefling Witch

A toad hopped through the grass, moving closer and closer to the sound of the quiet sobbing. It came upon a pale tiefling girl lacking the customary horns and tail of her kind. Moving up to her knee it croaked to announce its presence. The girl hiccuped in surprise and looked down to see the tiny creature looking at her. A small smile came to her lips as she lifted the creature in her palms to look into its eyes. Inside, she saw mist, which coalesced into the shape of a faceless creature beckoning her. She nodded, and so made a pact with the creature that would last all her life.

Sarvine Namia was born to peasants in a country that was zealous in its religious fever. Seeing her unnatural thinness and the length of her fingers, her parents promptly turned her over to the church for study or execution. Choosing the latter, the clergy raised her in a small cell, experimenting with the affects of holy artifacts on the young tiefling. One night after the daily soaking in holy water, a toad approached her. It brought with it a pact from its master, offering to take Sarvine out of the church. She accepted and tricked the monks into thinking she was still in her cell as she escaped over the monastery wall. This started her new life of freedom, which lasted for decades. However, she was getting tired of being always on the run from the authorities, year after year. As she was walking one day in the lowlands of her country, a mist appeared, that looked exactly like the mist she saw in her familiar's eyes. She smiled and stepped through to arrive at the doors of Misthaven. Thus began her strange adventures in this strange land.

Tsukohari of the Dark Rock Tribe, NG Investigative Swordmaster Rogue

Having lived on the outskirts of territories with her community for most of her life, Tsukohari's life has been nomadic at best. Trade, where it could be had, could get the tribe by, but at an early age, Tsu went through the Apprentice's Rites in order that she would be assigned her craft and chores for the clan - she was to be a blacksmith, and a hunter. So, she grew up as a blacksmith and a hunter, learning what she would and traveling with her tribe when they were unwelcome once more, and inevitably so. Irregardless, she took up well with a sword instead of a bow, and to making weaponry above all else...which was well in itself, for repairing what comes in broken or chipped, for her tribe was not a rich one. Out of anyone else, though, her tribe took up well with a group of elves, and times were easy for a while - but always the Tengu move when they are not welcome, and so it would always happen. Coming of age, though, and staying a few years on with the tribe afterward, it wasn't until she had her replacements that Tsu finally left to go out into the world, to bring back fortune and wild stories. This was her right, after all...

Traveling across the land, it wasn't long before she wandered into the mists, coming out into Misthaven. Getting established, and taking a couple odd jobs, she was recruited into the White Star in the hopes of a bright beginning. And her backstory, a complete baldfaced lie to cover up how her tribe died.

Here is Elja's backstory and character sheet. It still needs some work, but you can get an idea of who he is and where he came from.

Oparal Aernelóth is a drug dealer, plain and simple. She manufactures her own merchandise and then sells it on the street. She doesn't need protection from thieves because she is perfectly capable of summoning her own.

About 145 years ago, Oparal was found by Loriel, an old elf, in a dumpster by accident, apparently left there as a result of an unwanted pregnancy. Loriel raised her and recognized her innate talent for magic, so she taught her in the Art. Loriel died of old age 60 years ago and Oparal was left to fend for herself. She realized that she would quickly starve to death unless she was able to earn her own coin, she used her knowledge of alchemy to start manufacturing and selling drugs. She was always watchful on the streets as it was necessary for her own survival. She also quickly realized that she just wasn't the person who had a personality to be a merchant, so she learned some persuasion techniques.

After selling drugs for decades and witnessing countless lives of lesser lived races destroyed by addiction, she felt guilty about it despite her rationalizations. Manufacturing and selling drugs also left her little time for arcane research, something she truly wanted to do. She applied to join the White Star free company to escape from the guilt and the life she has started to resent.

I'm assuming another reroll, since this was lower than the last roll? I'll roll again just to be sure, and you can tell me whether it's ok.
