Thread: Game Suggestions

I'd like to put in a suggestion for a Vampire: the Masquerade game. It would be pretty adventurous to start out in the Dark Ages or something, where it eventually progresses to a modern time chronicle, where all the players are Elders and such.

Just my two cents for incorporating some elements into a V:tM game.

  3. Default Concept: 24/7

    This is my idea:

A persistant d&d game world , that runs (as close as possible to) 24/7. Of course this results in one million questions of how, and I understand that, but I'm looking for a team of people to start exploring that how, and tossing around ideas. I know for a fact I am not the man to lead this project, but I would be a valuable resource to it. I have a many thoughts but I don't want to talk about them with myself, so please, join me.

And what Sigil doesn't do is simply not feasable with a game like this. You want DnD to be any closer to 24/7, odds are you need to go check out DnD Online.

He may also want a more traditional D&D game not using a lot of alternate rules and house rules...which Sigil does.

He may also want to make use of all those sourcebooks that have come out.

  7. Default ....24/7 stuff

Sigil rocks. It's what got me thinking about this idea, and yes there are similarities....but I'm not sure it is Sigils goal to continue to expand and get bigger and bigger with more and more games per week....(maybe Im wrong?)

In my 'world' 1 game per day would barely be a start. The goal would be to have maybe each day broken up into 5 or 6 timeslots (maybe more), each with a game running. Also major game slots could have special consideration in their creation to have a few 'jump in' points. So if a player shows up 'late' (there is really no such thing), he could jump in at the next available point.

I was also thinking about subworld sections of the game...like for example, a gladiatorial arena, where combat is constantly taking place....and very easy quick adventures could be made that take place there...and on sunday nights evryone knows theres always a main event in the arena, so GMs could special tailor a visit or even participation in their quests. This is raw ideas, poorly thought out sure, but I once again reiterate I wouldnt be the man to lead this project.

I think what Sigil does is great, but I certainly think it could be done on a much grander scale as well. And as someone mentioned earlier, I would think a very traditional D&D setting with minimal house rules would work best. However my instinct is that as far as leveling and char creation, the SRD would be the one and only source....just an instinct, again, raw ideas here.

Well, this post is costimg me 19 cents a minute on a public NYC computer, so I'll wrap it up/ Hope I've stirred a bit of further interest.

Well sure, it'd be great if Sigil could pull that off, but the resources (meaning players and DMs) required would be *massive*. We're talking 4-5 DMs a day, likely from several different timezones, and the same with players.

In other words... a game at a scale that Sigil isn't even *close* to.

Or if you really want it to be something kinda like D&D... Neverwinter Nights on a good RP server with DMs.

I am looking to join a D&D 3.5 game, not looking for one with alot of extra rule books ect. Want to join one that is RP heavy and Character based heavy...IE not totally hack and slash, love puzzles and ones you must think about...not just kill. Willing to play almost any time with the exception of Friday nights through Saturday. (From sunset to sunset my time). I would be willing to play other games, but can not invest in game books right now. I do have some of the books for some games and books for D&D 2E and 3E and 3.5E and also Warhammer RPG and Alternity. Will gladly submit to any screening necessary. Willing to play most classes to help even out a party. Please send me more info about your game, my email is azedalis@aol.com
