    If you request it, yes.

Yes, absolutely. He could also tell us if those black robes are more powerful.

    Order of crystal

    Brandon
    Vortigern
    Rian
    Kalthanar
    Hrothgar

If we go back to the "healing room", will we have to try to get back into this room via the door and Brandon again? If so, then we need to use the crystal and get our spells back and then go heal.

Vort has 2 1st level spells left. So if he uses them for whatever, he can get back 9 levels back?

H will definitely like to acquire the whistle... however I assume Vort will hold on to it until it is properly identified...

He will not toot the thing until he knows exactly what that implies.... apart from the fact that it will likely need attunement - it may also be a 1 shot per day/week type deal... and it would not do to waste it on an unknown toot :P

    ***

Does the Crystal look to be removable from its location - ie could it be taken with us... or is it permanently fixed.
Ie if its a wooden table its wedged in... the table could be conceivably hacked up a bit in order to free it - once each of us has used it. And well... Hrothgar could carry it... (weight wise im meaning... the how it could be carried would take some rope and a whole lotta help im sure) however if its a stone table - or it is truly too huge for even a beefcake like H to carry... that would be considered a non-event in its removal from the room.

    ***

Whether its a long rest or just a heal-up pit stop... we should still go back to where Jamison and the healing sphere is. while that crystal is a nice recovery -sans LR - there is no point to blowing spells just to "recover" half of them.

I think healing should take priority. We can be ambushed at any time. The healing won’t take long.

Not if we have to fight back to get back to this room, or be diverted somewhere else.

Ok here is my assumption about this tower and its resistance.... its probably wrong but it makes sense to me.

    ___

Assume that when the tower was initially attacked that the mages enacted some kind of inner magical defense to slow down invaders - now to establish who was an invader ... lets say there is a kind of magical register of those who have passed the test.... and the tower... knows this list. Either that or perhaps just anyone of X race. (it was a racial type fight)

To get around magical invaders from other towers - in this case Elves - lets say the defense can be set to Local Tower residents only.

Then being thrown out of phase, it has no way to reconnect with the other towers to learn that the system can be reset - the war is over etc.... and update the magical register.

Enter Brandon. The Tower recognises (probably some magical way) that he is a mage that passed the 'Test', is not one of those declared an invader and so should have some access, but its confused because of the time phase thing, or his race or who knows.... might be something altogether different.. point is... it wants to recognise him.... but still has to "comply" to its directives... so it opts to resist him - rather than outright deny him access.

Each door therefore has a different resistance level.... but when he passes it, he is now "recognised" for that door/room.
Those he fails... well it stops him from opening the door.... perhaps even makes it harder for the next attempt.... until - say ... a Local "helps him out" (ala jamison).

    ____

Now the easiest way to test this theory is to have Brandon open the door back to where Jamison is. IF there is no resistance this time.... then we know we can heal, then come to the crystal.

IF there however IS resistance, (or it goes somewhere else) then my theory is completely shot, and we cannot leave this room without using the crystal.... because there is no guarantee we can get back. Therefore the priority would be to maximise the benefit you can get.... even if it means casting a few heals on Brandon and Rian.... for the spell points equation.

Im hoping I managed to type this in a way that makes sense.... lol.
