Jason shakes in fear, nearly being shoved away, by the much larger man, Jason little more than a child clings to Sabiyya's wrist and tries to pull her through the crowd, they had to be close to somewhere safe, then he could allow the adult in the chase take charge, and hopefully pay him for not only a couple feats of acrobatics, but also for saving her life... actually... mostly for saving her life

    Default Chapter 1.1

Sabiyya gets pulled, yet she willingly steps in to intercept the swing.

“Leave him alone will ya. He’s just a kid. Jenkins, you’re drunk! It’s only 9 in the morning!”

“Oh iz thad all?” I’m behine schedyool!” He says pointing to the Sabiyya on the right. “I’ll kick all three of yur azzez!”

Just as he swings the tankard is knocked out of his hand by a a dagger being thrown from across the room. “Damn!” Zsasz cursed for missing his open shot. The tankard tumbled down and knocked another patron on the head causing him to spill his drink. The large man stood up, nearly filling up the space glared down at Jenkins who promptly pointed at the bald Zsasz across the room.

“Did you do that!” The Goliath of a man questioned.

    “So what if it did?”

Then another large man stood and towered over Zsasz from behind. “Is this prick bothering you Miss. Sabiyya?”

“As a matter of fact boys, yes he is. Would you mind helping out?”

“Anything for the Princess of the Market.” The second muscle mountain acknowledged. Zsasz was quickly snatched and dragged across the bar, crashing other plates and tankards clang tip the floor.

“That should hold’em for a while. But knowing Zsasz, it might not be enough. Quick this way.” She yanks the boy in another direction. The two of them dart down the back alley they come across a stack of supplies blocking the path. Sabiyya begins to climb up and over the crates and barrels.

The two of them continue to dash down the alley and are stopped by a dead end. Yet their options aren’t out yet. A door was left ajar to their right and a climbable fence straight ahead.

    OOC
You’ve been rolling like a rockstar. No need to roll on these one since I know your climb climb and acrobatics scores are high enough to easily over take both the obstacles.

    Which rout should they take?

jason quickly pushed a barrel up against the fence before darting through the door, turning around and hoping to try and lock it in any way that he could, or simply just block it

    Default Chapter 1.1

Jason throws the latch while Sabiyya shoves a chair under handle. Moments later they hear a thud at the door and a test on the handle. A muffled voice could be heard from the other side. “It’s nothing personal, just business Sabiyya. You know how that goes.” It was Zsasz.

“How did he get away from those two meatheads so quick.” Sabiyya thought while holding Jason close with her hand over his mouth to help prevent making any sound. “Shhhhhhh.”

“Sabiyya, little boy where are you? Nah you’re not in there. Wait a second.” His voice could be heard stepping away from the door over to the fence with a deceptively placed barrel. “Over the roof, and through the bar, and hoot the fence to grandmothers house we go.” Zsasz hopped up and climbed the fence turned the corner and was greeted by an angry dog.

From behind the locked and barricaded door they could hear the distant voice of Zsasz. “Nice doggie, nice doggie.” Then a barrage of angry barks as the dog lunged to attack the assassin. “AAAAAAAHHH! Get away from me you mangy mutt.”

Then behind them they hear another voice. “Hey what are you doing in here. You can’t be back here.” A rotund Baker has just entered the room with a tray stacked with a mountain of baked goods.

    OOC
You chose wisely. Well done. Not saying that there wasn’t a chance to get past the dog but now you’ve got an angry baker to contend with.

Would Jason dash under/around the baker, talk to him or wait for Sabiyya to respond?

Jason looks around awkwardly, he shrugs and turns to Sabiyya, surely the merchant princess could talk her way out of this, after all, Jason had just let her into an alley, up onto a roof, through a window, past a group of drunks and finally given Zsazs the slip. the least she could do is pay off or assuage the fears of a baker.

    Default Chapter 1.1

“Thank you for letting us use your alley access.” Sabiyya’s charismatic personality quickly took control of the situation.

“Oh sorry princess, I didn’t recognize you.” He steps aside to allow the two of them pass. “Here have two on me.”

Sabiyya gives the cheeky baker a wink before grabbing a sweet roll and tosses it to Jason with a smile. She yanks on his wrist and dashes past the baker, through the main entrance of the bakery and out into the crowded street.

“You can use the back door any time Princess!” Behind them they could hear the baker shout as the two of them increase their lead and weave through the multitude of market goers.

“Ma! You wouldn’t believe who just came through our back entrance!” The baker shouted to his mother in the hot kitchen. “The Princess of the Market just came through our bakery!” His excitement was quickly shot down by his disbelieving mother.

“Are you sure!? How would you know it was the Princess?”

“Yes I’m sure, she even winked at me! I think she likes me!”

“Have you been sneaking rum again? What makes you thinks she’s into a big dummy like you!?

“I don’t know! She was with some kid and they just ran through from the alley!”

“Ahh! Get those sweet rolls out to refill the baskets!”

    OOC
Where do you take Sabiyya now? You’ve escaped Zsasz, and I don’t think I could have come up with any better way.

Jason chomps on his sweat roll hungrily "we should go somewhere safe to talk..." he mumbles with his mouth full of food, he could already feel himself growing fat from the second large meal of the day, almost as if he hadn't just been in a life or death chase

    Default Chapter 1.1

“Come with me. I’ve got a place.” The two of them ducked back into a side alley and through a maze of connecting buildings. Often times doubling back and crossing previous paths. To anyone else it would have felt like she was lost but to Jason he knew this was to both create an untraceable path as well as potentially confuse anyone she was with to the exact whereabouts of her safe house.

“What’s your name sweetheart? I want to know who to thank for saving my life.”

    OOC
If Jason would like to try and memorize the path or where the safe house is please roll an INT check or you may feel it’s best not to know.

'uhh... m..my name? Im.... im.... Ja... " stuttering to find a decent lie "I am uh... James Wayne" he finally says, reasonably definitely, though still clearly a lie. Combining both the name of a local cop who had already been making waves as well as gothams newly returned favored son

    Default Chapter 1.1

She stoped to look back at Jason with a quizzical expression. “Yeah ok, ‘James Wayne’.” She pauses as she emphasized the syllables. “Look, I get it if you don’t want to tell me your full name. Here’s a word of advice; if you want to fool someone of who you are, don’t use a big name, especially one of the the biggest names out there like Wayne. It’s a dead give away.” She resumes her passage through the next building. “Alright James, if that really is your name, thank you. I would have been a goner back there.”

She knocks on an inconspicuous door. The viewing slot slid open to reveal a pair of angry eyes before it quickly shut again and the door swung open. A broad shouldered man filled the entry way. “Princess! Ferris and Angus said you went missing at the market. Where did you go?” He asked as he stepped aside while keeping an eye on the kid next to Sabiyya. “Who’s the kid?”

“Nice to see you too Jakon. This is James. He’s the reason I went missing.”

Jakon adjusted his stance into a more respectful yet protective stance. “You need me to take care of him ma’am?

“No that’s not necessary Jakon. He’s alright. He actually saved my bacon. Which is more than you can say. Come on James.” As the two of them passed through the doorway she shouted back to Jakon. “Make sure you double the security! Somebody

The two of them entered a narrow stairwell that led into a broad sub level tavern. The hideaway was so well hidden that the exterior buildings gave no inclination of the large tavern that they hid under their floors. Sabiyya escorted Jason to the bar and took a seat next to him.

“So what would you like? Order anything you like. Hey Max! Get the kid anything he wants!” She shouted down the bar at the bartender who was helping another patron.

“You got it princess!” Max says as he steps up.

“Look James, I’ve got one thing to take care of. It’ll only be a minute. Like I said order anything you like. And if any one asks or gives you trouble just show them this.” The market princess slides a broad copper bracelet. “Anyone who’s worth their salt will recognize that bracelet as mine and won’t give you any trouble.

After downing a shot glass of spirits Sabiyya steps off through the crowd and through a door on the other side of the room.

“So what’ll be?” He says through his long mustache.

    OOC
The two of you seemed to have walked into a hidden tavern, one that either seems to be a regular of the Princess or she runs the place. Feel free to order anything you want, it’s on the house and mingle around. Maybe you could spot your next mark or decide what you want to do or where to go next.

Sorry it took so long. I’ve got the week off so feel free to post daily.

    And for your gift:

Sabiyya had given you a Bracelet of Haggling. (Basically a Bracelet of Bargaining but lower CL to balance out)
