So have a good number of people wishing to join, but unfortunately there will only be room for 5 of you. For ease I will be updating the first post as characters are posted that will give some info on what classes have been made and help me keep track of things.

As it is this is still open to additional petitioners up until Friday at 17:00 my time (it is currently 10:36 at the time of my writing).

For those who have put their hat in by that time you will have a week from that time to submit all characters and make all final edits.

    Tips:
1.) I am a fan of roleplay so the more fleshed out a character is the better, and it will be helpful to take into account the setting which is the Swordcoast and the city of Waterdeep.
2.) I am not a big fan of joke builds, that doesn't mean you have to be dark/gritty/super serious but I prefer not to have whacky characters.
-that isn't to say you can't make a gnome barbarian. If you are uncertain if your build is what I consider a joke then feel free to ask for feedback.
3.) No anti-social characters...I can't tell you how many grimdark loner builds I've encountered playing that make it near impossible to justify including them in the group. Always remember that your character will HAVE to fit into a group. To be clear a character who cannot function in a group without metagaming (players kindly overlooking the many reasons to not want to associate with the character) will be flat rejected.
4.) You are welcome to invent organizations, past associations, and other somewhat world building parts in creating your background. I will say run the idea by me first in case there might need to be adjustments made.

Honestly, thanks for posting that ^

My initial idea for my second character was a half-elf bard but I was having some doubts, so now I can focus more intently on developing a different character.

  10. Default

Character 1: Mayhem, Tiefling Warlock, Pact of the Fiend.
Still working on backstory, but Mayhem grew up in the Nine Hells with her demon father. He raised her to be an agent of chaos, to spread mayhem in the Material Plane. When she was old enough, she made a pact with her father. Power in exchange for spreading chaos in the Material Plane. Mayhem's idea of chaos is significantly less destructive than her father's, however. She spreads her own version of chaos through scams, practical jokes, lies and deception. She's been staying in Waterdeep for the past few weeks running a long con, performing the written letter equivalent of catphishing on the youngest son of a noble family.

Character 2: Garnok the Leafwhisperer, Half-orc druid.

Despite Garnok's towering figure, he is truly the definition of a gentle giant. His orc half-brothers and sisters teased him that he'd rather talk to plants than join them in combat training. Since he was little, Garnok loved flowers and animals. He often spent hours telling them about his day. When he told the clan that they replied back to him, his father cuffed his ears for telling tales. But the clan's shaman, Sarkith, saw potential in Garnok, and took him under her wing. She trained him to not only appreciate and listen to nature, but how to survive in it as well. As he grew more and more powerful, Sarkith declared there was nothing more that she could teach Garnok. She instructed him to go on a journey, and listen and learn from the plants and animals he encountered. Garnok is sweet and friendly, the antithesis of the typical half-orc. But if someone threatens nature, he gives in to the call of Gruumsh, and will stop at nothing until the threat is eliminated. He has journeyed to Waterdeep to observe and learn from the flora and fauna native to that area.
