"Hello Tsu, Elsa, Oparal. I'm glad you're all in one piece. Is there anything I can do to help? I'm no healer, but I can help set up a party. And I suppose I could teach them a few chants from my old life."
Tarrah smiles at Dagge. "Thank you for your help. I know this has been a tough day. It's my first giant monster / disembodied voice swearing vengeance combo, too."
Oparal's focus shifts to Tarrah's amulet: "Fascinating. This is a high-quality enchantment.", she casts detect magic and observes iy in detail, "I see... the enchantment matrix can be augmented, made more complex. Do not worry, giant monsters stand no chance against superior training and superior weaponry. The fluidity of your movements in combat makes it evident that you possess the former and for as long as you stay with us, I will make sure to provide you with the latter."

Waiting for Tarsus to decide his answer, Elsa also took the moment to consider what she knew about magical tradition and lore to help provide an answer.
Tarsus's mind lies elsewhere, wrestling with the question of what or who they encountered. He's aware of the conversations happening around Dagge and Oparal and Tsukohari, and even Elsa's question, but he is preoccupied, absent-mindedly collecting his things and stripping out of much of his armor as he walks slowly back toward the fortification. Was the voice Divine? An aspect like the Urgathoan and Lamashtan slivers he encountered in the past? A reaction to something? His thoughts turn to little Lamashtu, as they do in times like these. Something strange happened, to upset reality. If this is Divine, perhaps it is a response to that, as is the greater corruption.

"Huh?" he says, realizing that Elsa awaits his response. "I don't know what it is, to be honest. Not good, in any event."

While they are walking toward Sarvine, she continues: "So, why did you join the White Stars? Our members die and new come so often, there is often no time to see if they are trustworthy. I hope it turns out that you are... going to be staying longer with us than some of the others.", Oparal smiles politely.

Dagge nods and stands up at Tsukohari's urging. He picks his blade off of the ground and runs a hand across his avian face.
"Sorry. I just... The relief... Sorry." He apologizes incoherently but straightens his back and takes a few deep breaths.
The whole group returns to the mining compound and Dagge sets off to busy himself with the clean up as the expeditionary duergar forces bandage themselves up and aid the miners.

The rest of your time there is spent relatively idle. The Red Flag squad comes by to offer thanks and appreciation of comradery in arms. So do a great many of the miners, stout men and women with little but their trade in common and the fact that they would not be alive if not for your efforts.

When the time comes for Synn to return you are left waiting, causing mote than a bit of worry. Finally though your medusa Mystwalker appears, an hour late and with signs of combat upon her. Uncharacteristically she's holding a recurve bow of excellent make. Which is a little superfluous to an accomplished mage such as herself.
"I've been attacked along the way. Damn things are tenacious and virtually impervious to magic. Come on, let's go now I've thrown them from my trail."

Oparal looks to check if that's really Synn or someone posing as her in disguise: "Attacked by whom?"

"By what, not whom. Mystmanes. Common enough variant of Shard Steeds. Easily avoided too. But these ones... They were more than what they seemed. Tarsus and I as well as Maynard encountered possessed like these in Mysthaven proper though there they were humanoids that were somehow possessed. Damn things just eat up any magic you throw at them." Synn explains. As far as anyone can tell this really is Synn.

Tsu makes it a point to reassure as many of the miners as she can, eyes fading back to grey over time and voice taking on a more neutral tone instead of being authoritative. She makes sure to pass the relief Duergar a message of thanks to their royal friend, for both her rehabilitation and the aid, as well as a request to look out for any signs of strange beings eating up magic.

But most importantly... wrapped with a simple leather cord is a pendant, a feather with a pair of glass beads. One of her headfeathers, a form of charm. This is passed to Dagge before she goes, with barely a word about it - something to read into or not. With that, she waits for Synn with the others.

"This isn't boding well - I propose that none of us should be going off alone, or at least take a strong martial escort if needed. We do have some underlings for that - Kinami probably wouldn't mind following you around, Miss Synn." She rubs her headfeathers back, thinking. "Everybody ready?"

Elsa moved about the camp with charm and grace, giving encouraging words and otherwise wielding her skill with words and people to good effect.

    "I'm ready, I think."

Sarvine seems concerned about the murderous unicorns in the mist, but decides to cross that pony when they come to it. She shrugs and grabs a handful of dust to dry the remaining blood on her hands.
"I don't see any reason to stay. We fought off the insect hordes, no one died that we could prevent, and there's no treasure we could loot from the bodies. So let's head on out and hopefully avoid these possessed things as it sounds like I'd be helpless against them."
    She frowns at the thought.

Tarsus is relieved to see Synn emerge from the mysts in mostly one piece, but lets out a deep sigh at the mention of combat and begins to dress himself in armor once again. "Alright," he says, finally, "let's go."
