Tsu avoids the blade, but takes the Spiritual Weapon. Agh! But she's laughing now. "I don't think you even realized by now that you give your position away every time!" Enough with this. Her sword goes away as she goes at her once more, feeling how the incorporeal weapon follows.

The Crane curses Tsukohari as she grabs hold of the albino tengu.
    "Let go you filth!"
She struggles to cast a spell while grappled.

She chokeslams the bird to the ground, Pinning her now as a knee rests on her gut. One arm holds hers down, her other hand around her throat still. More noticeable is the fact that Tsu's eyes are a malevolent red, glowing slightly in the darkness. "No, see, ever still the fool, Whitey. I'm a monster. A real monster, born this way, with this hatred, this Furie. And it takes one to know one. You're no monster - just a cowardly babe still snapping for mush from momma."

"I'm going to choke you to death, now, so if you can get out any last words, make them count. Beg for mercy, forgiveness. Your magic and tricks have failed."

"Corby... Does... As... Corby... Is." the Crane gasps in Tsukohari's chokehold as she tries in vain to find purchase or release. Her body goes limp and the spell cloaking the room in darkness vanishes. Yoriuchi is revealed to be standing right next to the pair and Tsu gets no chance to say anything or even acknowledge her presence before a vicious kick from the Yoriki hits her right on the side of the head. Tsu is thrown a few feet to the side and try though she does can't prevent the world going dark.

The first things that come back to Tsukohari are words.
"...for the good of the family!" the Crane.
"I acknowledge your actions have benefited us greatly. But you went too far." Yoriuchi rebutts.
"Family always comes first." The Crane argues. Tsu can see both of them now, Yoriuchi squatting beside a tied and restrained Crane. Then the tengu realizes she is similarly bound. Something Cousin said comes back to her:
"Yoruichi? Middle daughter of the Tanaka household. Her older sister is a bit of an embarrassment, being deformed. She formally stepped down out of the line of succession. Is quite the enchantress I've been told. Almost no-one ever sees her. Yoruichi's younger sister is a Usurer. She has an even younger brother too. He's still a kid.
"Family... I will look out for the family. And you, you'll live. But you... You harmed me deeply. I can't just forgive such a wound." she concludes. The Crane just stares angrily in silence. There are other people there, Five Feather oarsmen. Two of them pick Tsukohari up at Yoruichi's signal. The tengu noble comes over.
"Tsukohari of the White Star..." she starts but falls silent.

With sufficient time to come around, and make sense of everything she's hearing. As angry as she was before, Cousin's words still ring in her head, about what this place has done to him. What it could have done to her. But, really, what would that have been compared to what she's already done?

"You don't need to keep me bound unless you're going to have me killed. Even then, I'd rather have a sword in my hand. But I get what's here." She looks to the Crane, hand flexing slowly. "I am... simple. I look out for my own. Until a short while ago, I considered my race a part of that, but then I realized I'm not even a real Tengu here, am I?" She looks across the room to everyone. "I'm a Primitive. My people fought for any scrap of land that would allow them, traded and sold themselves for food, and under it, the culture endured. The seed of what I've seen here. The foods, the outfits, the colors, the weapons. But the meaning changed. You all became what I fought all my life: Human."

"Not that it's bad I guess. You survive and innovate. Humans are usually pretty good. But humans also enslaved my tribe, had us kill each other for entertainment. The Dark Rock Tribe's blood coats me, every single feather. I fought my brothers, my sisters, young and old. My blade took blood, but it was me who stole their lives away, carrying just phantoms of memory so they might survive. You all took that from the humans - you fight each other, squabble over land and exclude based on who someone is."

"I'm just a monster. I'm not a Tengu - that's you, here. I see people hiding behind politics, assassins, turning friends into enemies and exploiting love to grab for power, and more of it. I see every awful thing the humans did to me and mine amplified, like a bastardization of my culture and theirs. But I also see a woman looking out for her family in the midst of it, to provide them good lives. I saw a would-be killer who remembered his friendship, one who even defied the entire natural order to protect a debt. There is yet honor, sacrifice, honesty, comradery without expectations."

"But not for me, here. I'm not a Tengu like you all are Tengu. I can't tell you what to think or do."
She breathes out - didn't mean to go on for that long. "I only ask permission to shop here. There's a girl I'm helping take care of, and she loves the kimonos and masks. Even I'm not one of the people, this is my culture."

"Indeed." is all Yoriuchi says after a long pause with a cold stare. Tsukohari can tell she's holding back.
"The White Star has concluded it's business here in Tengutown. In doing so it has assaulted the Tanaka family to settle a blood debt and caused considerable damage to Five Feather holdings. While the Five Feather's aren't unsympathetic to the settlement of said debt it is still a direct assault on us." she declares, her voice gaining strength as she speaks. "From this moment on the White Star is no longer welcome in Five Feather territory. Any business we have will be concluded at the edge of our protectorate. We will of course continue to honor any previously signed agreements, trade or otherwise." she pauses as she displays the tengu equivalent of grinding the teeth. She turns to the two oarsmen beside Tsu. "Escort the White Star corby out of Tengutown."

Heh. Heheheh. Tsu is chortling to herself. "Enjoy your new position, Yoriuchi. It only came at the cost of Toshiro's life." She shakes her head in mirth, before looking to the Oarsmen. "Let's go then."
