O'Malley stands as you do and says:

"No. I'll go alone." T'ya-gahst says. Then in a gentler voice, "Rest up. I expect we still need our night-watchman"

O'Malley follows you to the door while saying:

In mid-step over the thresh-hold, T'ya-gahst freezes. He whirls around, "Close? Whaddya mean by that that? Have they been working together?"

O'Malley looks a bit uncomfortable, but continues and says:

(you can almost hear the misused word in per se, he mus have picked it up somewhere among the more educated members of the firm)

"Oh......." T'ya-gahst has never had a romantic thought in his life. Perhaps his strongest affections have been those devoted to the acquisition and hoarding of knowledge. "Uhhh... yes... poor child. Sorry for... hmm...." he fidgets uncomfortably, adjusts his hat and steps out.

You leave the man behind and head on out. There isn't much else to see in the area, though you do find that there are a few staring at you in what you suppose they hope is an inconspicuous manner. Mostly it's children, but there are a few adults as well.
