Default Dorsard: Sunday, August 13, 1852

Once his hunger has been satisfied Dorsard begins to walk around the campus, looking in particular for a practice area for the martial arts. If he ran out of bombs and extracts, he did not want to die pathetically because he didn't know how to use a weapon.
After a week of traversing the school's halls, you've managed to get a decent idea of its layout. It doesn't take you long to find the school's gymnasium, a large room in the center of the main school building. The middle of the gym holds a thirty foot by thirty foot wrestling ring. The rest of the gym holds plenty of exercise machines, weights, and gymnastics bars. In the back of the room is a wooden door with a clipboard hanging on the wall beside it.

The only other person in the gym at the moment is Perdita Chaturvedi. The tall elf has her hair pulled back in her usual bun and is hacking away at a training dummy with a broadsword.

Dorsard stares for a moment in surprise at the elf's choice of weapon. Didn't they always use bows or rapiers? Seeing one use an actual weapon was a shocking change, but considering the size of the world there was bound to be some elves that weren't useless.
He approaches Perdita and waits between swings to start talking.
"Knife-ears, ya seen tha teacher around? Ah'm lookin' for more practice with ma weapon."

Perdita holds her sword at her side, wiping sweat from her brow with her free hand.

"He's under the combat simulator, you hairy cave-halfling. Is that all, or can I get back to my practice?"

"Tha's all, dandelion-eater. Keep it up, one day you might equal a dwarf!" With an encouraging nod Dorsard leaves Perdita in peace and approaches the combat simulator. Knowing that going inside would be dangerous and rather stupid if it was on something to challenge the teacher the dwarf waits outside while trying to look in to get a glimpse of the experience.

The combat simulator is empty, except for a mechanical man in a suit and mustache standing stiffly at the back of the room. The door is shut but doesn't look locked. You don't see any teachers around at the moment.

Deciding to investigate the automaton instead of the room Dorsard marches up to the thing and plants himself in front of it.
"Hmmmm. Is this thing on? What do ye do, mechanical sir?" He waves a hand in front of the things eyes in case it needed some more stimulation to activate.

The automaton stands stiffly until you address it.

"Welcome to the Combat Simulator," it says. "Please state your desired difficulty level or type of enemies."

"Well, first off can ye tell me if anyone's inside tha thing?" Dorsard asks. "Or has the professor made any appointments to come back?" He knew he needed to word his questions carefully, as most robots couldn't answer much outside their area of expertise.

"I do not understand your query," the automaton says. "Please reword your request, or redirect it to the Great Creator, Doctor Bianchi, in his Magnificent Underground Laboratory."

"Can ye deliver a message to Doctor Bianchi? Or is there a manual that shows all the options of the Simulator?" He strokes his beard as he thinks of what he might be able to do.
