    ((OOC: Ok.. there's something wrong with my sheet..
    for some reason i had +5 for Init, but after looking at my items and features, i can't see why..
    do i have an item that i forgot to list?
    Also, during level up, i forgot to roll for Hp.. here we go..

    Yeah. You couldn't make it up to them, and even if you're dressed like (or even look like) one of them, they know who's with them and where.

    my bracers have "Guardian" minor.. missed that..
    so my Init is 25

    So here's the deal... We'll be using a modified version of the chase rules in the DMG, since those assume that you're the ones running away.

    Here's a map of the road:

    Great map, I know. The palanquin with the half-dragon and the 8 bearers are at P, its guards are at Gu, and there's one other figure moving with them you don't remember from the camp (doesn't mean he wasn't there), who is at D. The party is currently at their respective initials. These will likely split up over time.

    Each turn, something will happen to impede your progress. There will be a random DC and a random event.
    --If you succeed at the event, you gain advantage on your next event, and you get to move one dash (-) forward. If you fail, you have disadvantage on your next event and you don't get to move.
    --On the second and any consecutive success, you are in hot pursuit and may engage the enemy with combat, skills, or spells, if such can reach the enemy. (You can't swing your staff at them if the enemy is not in or adjacent to your current location.)
    --Due to congestion, twists, and turns, you can't see more than 5 dashes (-) in front of you. If the palanquin makes it out of your sight, there's a strong chance you'll lose it, as it may turn down a side street or otherwise hide.
