Tarsus is pleasantly surprised at how persuasive Sharlot is. It's the first time he's seen her in action, not counting the show she put on at the breakfast table. For a brief moment, he imagines they may yet reach their destination without complication. But then Tsu speaks. It's a good thing we're so close to the mortuary, he muses as he quietly draws his flail. The chain and grip, once bound together by the loop on his belt, are now held firm in his armor-clad fist. His shield shifts perceptibly as his grip on it tightens, his wrist and elbow locked. "Kill the drows first, and we'll see how loyal the others are," he mutters, stepping past Tsukohari and Sharlot to place himself in the middle of the stand-off.

He enters a practiced stance, his weapon-hand at the ready. Four on six isn't a fight he'd have chosen if you asked him, but if they can make the first two as bloody as possible, there's a chance it won't drag out. With that in mind, he slips his fingers and the chain is loosed. "If you lot need reinforcements," he taunts, "now's the time to fetch them."

The drow's smile is lighting Sharlot up in all the right places when Tsu gets down on these Unders. The bard can feel her pigtails droop and shrivel at the vitriol coming out of her wing leader. Oh, Tsu. Blood is not a good look on a royal blue kimono. White, sure. Royal blue? You'll have to burn out the stains.
Then Tarsus whips out his godbless-ed flail. And taunts these Unders. Like they don't already have insecurity issues. No, nope, nada, no.

Sharlot shoots the drow a familiar, 'ain't underlings presh' smirk and rolls her two-toned eyes. She sways over to midfielding Tarsus. For the love of all that is priestly, please don't hit me back for this. I'm fragile.
Sharlot gives him an audible slap upside the back of his helmed head and rounds on him, putting herself squarely between her mates and the Unders. "Down, boy."
She gives all of her teammates an urgent, pleading look before turning back to the Unders with a wry but apologetic grin. "Sorry about that. This is the first time I've walked the dogs out in public."

Tsu tenses, but...she steps back. "...sorry boss." Straightening ruffled feathers, she looks as sheepish as she can, letting Isada take point. That's right, she sucks at talking to people sometimes and her temper can control her. She lets the Bard do exactly what she needed her for.

The drow leader hesitates for a moment to process him being smooth talked, threatened, taunted and then smooth talked again. His hand is still on the hilt of his sword. Just before he is going to speak the cloaked drow female steps to his side and whispers something. Her face is still obscured and only her full enticing ashgray lips can be seen.
The female steps back when the man nods slightly before speaking:
"Alright. A thousand gold and you can have a 24 hours pass. You can pay cash but we prefer credit vouchers."

((Credit vouchers are much the same as paying with a cheque. A member of a free company writes in IOU and the recipient can take that to the Usurers guild which will pay the amount declared and then recover the money from the free company's bank account. Especially large amounts of cash paid this way takes a little longer to cash.))

Fetching her scroll case off of her bag, Tsu mentions, "I can write it up for you boss. Ma'am." Person. She starts slow, as if waiting for confirmation from Sharlot.

Tarsus folds his flail back into its loop and relaxes his stance as the promise to pay is inscribed and handed over. When the deed is done, he brings up the rear of the group as they pass the Drow, kissy noises emanating quietly from behind the face of his helm. The burden of command lifted, Tarsus has clearly rediscovered the joy of antagonizing those of higher social status.

Once out of earshot, however, he speaks up, "Maybe best if Sharlot does the talking from here on in."

"...probably. My temper gets the better of me." And it really does, sometimes.

Sharlot's genuinely surprised to hear the cleric extraneously taunting the Unders. Huh, maybe he's got a sense of humor somewhere in there, too.

Her mouth only relaxes into its painted grin when the group is out of sight. She spins on one heel to face the others though continues her sway backward. The bard gives them a bow and flourish. "My tongue is at your service."

She turns back around before she walks into anybody butt-first. I would have to charge.

Tsu scratches her head at that comment. "...these double entendres will be the death of me..." In any case, now they're on their way. Twenty-four hours, hmm...?

You walk further into the district and don't fail to notice the high concentration of drow here. As rare as it is to see them in the Outskirts, the streets are positively teeming with the dark skinned elves. Even when they are merchants or just workers clearing tables on one of the terraces they still give off that air of superiority; all graceful and lithe as fuck. Of course these are Misthaven drow, which pretty much the same as Misthaven goblins or orcs or medusae, means these aren't the black-hearted vicious demon worshiping monsters from beyond the mists. Although... A leopard doesn't change his spots and civilization is often only skin deep.

After a walk through the beautiful district, with paved streets and hanging vines and plants from high terraces contrasted by exquisite obsidian and black marble stone work, you arrive at the mansion of Lord Gangar Kalath. A marvelous estate with high walls and columns sculpted in the forms of ladies and knights. The main entrance is open, but a couple of guards keep a close eye on everyone going past. You can see immediately that these are not simple slacking guards.
