Grent smiles as he begins to turn into the passage way and then backs up before saying "I can find a way, but we need to use this tunnel, unless there's another." Grent says as he hides behind Tsu's leg, his hand on his weapons.

Tsu puts her hand to the side, four fingers splayed in a gesture of "hold on". "Still yourself Grent. I'd rather have friendlies in my tunnel than something else."

Zirril looks to the strangers with interest, his whiskers twitching out from under the hood that he uses to keep most of his face concealed in the dank tunnels. His mind buzzes, as he takes in the new sights, trying to see if he can figure out who or what these people might be.

Mattilda studies the strangers that are in front of them looking for anything that might give a clue as to who they are and what the answer to their question might be.

Grent nods at her as he stares at the tall one for a minute and then points "You, you will be the first to die if you try to attack my friend, you've been warned." He steps further behind Tsu, it looks like the shadows consume him as he smiles a big smile as he vanishes.

Tsu glances back to the main speaker. "...as you can see, Diplomacy is the preferred method here, but my team's ready for some blood. Beyond here or in here is up to you."

Mattilda just waits patiently at Tsu's side for anything to happen. She's not very diplomatic but she is patient.
Zirril has read about these subterranean denizens before though this is the first time he has encountered them in the flesh. These are Dark Folk. A racial offshoot of the Fey linked to primordial darkness. Their social structure bears strong resemblance to that of certain insect colonies yet their motivations and goals or religion are mysteries.
The more perceptive among you spot at least twenty of the small rag clothed figures with some little more than two feet tall. Perhaps these are children?
"Soft words yet harshly spoken. We seek only shelter in the dark. This colony welcomes cooperation. The metal door speaks. A path through here we will keep free yet guarded if a bargain is struck." The female speaks holding her arms to her side and her palms open to you. "The seat of darkness in the bodies of the surfacers sustains us. Yet we loathe competition with eaters of corpses. You could supply us with one each time the darkness rules above ground as below?" she suggests.

"I think they mean they want... bodies?" Zirril asked. "One per pass through the tunnel for guarding services?"
