You all set off at a normal pace - which means Malbocco (or someone else) has to continue carrying Stool, who also moves slowly. None of you are willing (or able) to pick up the gelatinous cube Glabbagool, who quickly falls behind and seems upset at your abandoning of it.

Anyone interested in foraging to supplement Voraxus's findings, please roll survival.

As usual, Dargyr concentrates on detecting danger in front of the group with his keen senses rather than foraging.

"I feel kind of bad for leaving that clear fellow behind." Voraxus mentions Glabbagool as they travel, mostly out of boredom. "He helped usss a bit without requiring a return favor and we just left him. He protected us from oozes by blocking the way. He gave us the mace we used to open the way out. Who knows what the drow will do with him if he's caught. I feel like we owe him a debt. It's too bad he's so slow."

"Is not Packmate," Dargyr says, giving Voraxus a sideways look. "Is not good slave. Does not fight. Is not food."

"It should go find own pack. This pack, many weak members already. No more. Need strong Gnoll fighters, not ooze."

Voraxus gives a little bit of a shrug. "It might be able to fight things that aren't oozes, we don't really know much about what it can do. Has already proven more useful than some other pack-mates." Voraxus can't help but glance back at Shuushar in particular.

Shuushar seems to be entertaining himself by blowing little bubbles with his saliva as he walks. He burbles quietly to himself in between rasping breaths.

"Would be food already," Dargyr says, following Voraxus' gaze, "If not Packmate."

Theander shook his head, "Dargyr, do you ever even consider that things without muscle could be useful? I couldn't tell you it's precise function, but a semi-invisible wall which might be able to melt organic tissue... As you may have noticed it was all metallic substances in its body... That might not be the worst of allies." Of course it would likely be easier for the drow to track, but having acclimated to his semi-constant terror put him in a place where the incompetent comments of the half-beasts were beginning to grate on his nerves.

He longed for the warm bed and clean sheets of the library... For the intelligent conversation. But for now he was stuck in this hell hole with imbeciles, oozes, and at least one demon. 'wonderful,' he thought to himself irritably.

"Magic strong. Different way," Dargyr responds to Theander's comment. "But ooze not use magic."

"Magic or no, the thing somehow had bits of wealth and weapons in it. My guess is it dissolved whatever thing it encountered before it 'woke up' and started talking to people. Just gaining sentience wouldn't stop its ability to melt things," he tried to explain, sounding much like a patronizing teacher getting irritable with a young student for not understanding. He didn't expect to get much through to the gnoll, but a small part of him was tired of silently fearing everything while feeling powerless to do anything but follow the leader.
