    Default Episode 3: Dragon Hatchery

After a good night's sleep, you wake up refreshed. You can get some palatable food for breakfast in the keep or venture out into town and buy something. Everyone that you see waves at you and smiles. Children run up to you and pester you with questions about what it was like to fight a dragon, why you went away for a little while, etc. Erevenn gets the innocent question "Are you a boy or a girl?" and deals with the children with the patience born of hearing the question a thousand times, while Grim gets "Can I see where that monster bit you? Does it still hurt?" The few children willing to approach Fade ask her "Why do you keep your face hidden like that?" One little boy asks you if any of the bad guys you stopped had his money - he says they took it from his secret hiding spot in the mill.

No one urges you on your way, so after you take care of anything you want to do in town (like shopping, which we can handle OOC), you get your things together and head back towards the cultist's camp to investigate the cave in the back and see what more you can find about their plans. You know that Mondath wanted the bulk of the camp to be cleared out before noon, and you shouldn't arrive until at least early afternoon, so there shouldn't be any worry about arriving before they are gone. Nonetheless, you are cautious as you approach. You draw near to the canyon and are not molested by anyone. You don't see mercenaries out doing drills or anything - you don't even hear the sounds of camp life. You do see the guard tower is still there, but after watching from afar, you determine it to be empty.

You are currently outside the box canyon where the cultists' camp was, and are unable to see into it without moving closer. What do you do?

After venturing with the group through town and trying her best to fit in with the surface people, Fade is glad to get back to their task at hand. She keeps her eyes peeled as they approach the canyon where the camp is. She does her best to make herself useful to the group in the daylight, but is beginning to wonder her worth to a group that travels mostly during the daylight hours with the vile sun in the sky; however she presses on. She is glad for the bond that she is building with Vala, not only for herself, but Fade believes that her experience with the darkness and vile nature of the underdark can help her keep her human companion from crossing over too far into the darkness. As she thinks they she smirks and lets out s slight laugh, to think that I a Drow am worried about the goodness of a human. She then looks to the group as they begin planning their next step and she suggests, "A good recon of the camp could help us decide the next best step, if their numbers are weak enough a direct assault might be fine, but should their strength be too much a frontal attack would truly prove fatal." She is sure as she says this that they all must be thinking it and wishes she had a more intelligent plan.

Erevenn listens to the children's questions with eldritch patience and uses their prestidigitation to amaze them while the elf preaches lessons about the grace of Corellon and gender diversity.

At the canyon's mouth they wait for someone else to spy.

Grim has used Speak with Animals to convince a fox to take a look around. It reports to him that there are "a paw of two-legs" and one "strange, dog-like lizard." The two-legs "smell like home and food."

Mindartis offers to move to the canyon entrance to get a better look at what is going on.

Before Mindartis enters the camp, he notices that the ground seems to have been beaten down as though many feet had passed over it, and there are quite a few wheel ruts as well - the rain last night dampened the ground to leave impressions. As he pokes his head around the edge, he sees that nearly all the tents are gone except the big one by the cave and a few small ones near the entrance. He sees four men dressed like hunters standing near the tents - their bows are propped against the tents - butchering several deer, rabbits, and birds. If they notice him, they don't seem to care and continue their work. He also sees a lone dragon dog digging holes near the northern part of the canyon where you suspected the latrines likely were.

"Let us approach as friends," Erevenn speaks in a low tone. "these hunters may have no loyalty, nor any charge as guards."

Vala follows her team, looking around the empty camp at the same time, for anything a cultlist may forgot or dropped behind,
that might tell her where they go next.

The hunters look up at you as you approach. As long as you don't seem like you intend to hurt them, they go back to their business of butchering the animals without even waving or speaking to you.
