Giants have emerged from their strongholds to threaten civilization as never before. Hill giants are stealing all the grain and livestock they can, while stone giants have been scouring settlements that have been around forever. Fire giants are press-ganging the small folk into the desert, while frost giant longships have been pillaging along the Sword Coast. Even the elusive cloud giants have been witnessed, their wondrous floating cities appearing above Waterdeep and Baldur’s Gate. Where is the storm giant King Hekaton, who is tasked with keeping order among the giants? The humans, dwarves, elves, and other small folk of the Sword Coast will be crushed underfoot by the onslaught of these giant foes. The only chance at survival is for the small folk to work together to investigate this invasion and harness the power of rune magic, the giants’ weapon against their ancient enemies, the dragons. The only way the people of Faerun can restore order is to use the giants’ own power against them.

The sword coast is no stranger to weird events, having witnessed its own fair share of tragedies and mysteries. However, the frequency of such happenings has escalated at an alarming rate in the past few months. Pirates on the Dessarin river, monster sightings throughout the slumber hills, bandits on the roads -- all too close to the lands of civilized folk. To top things off, a delegation from the dwarven city of Mirabar has gone missing. Are these events all some bizarre coincidence, or is there a deeper reason behind them? Working through its prophecies, the Elder Elemental Eye has emerged to spread chaos across the Forgotten Realms. How will the adventurers prevent absolute devastation?

Rumbling thunder pounds the spires of the ancient castle Ravenloft. The wind’s howling increases as the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich turns his gaze down toward the village of Barovia. The master of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner—and you are invited.
Equacom inc has just released their newest style of VR game. Soul Cage Online. It sounds cool enough. Pretty typical MMORPG, I mean, apart from the "tapping into your nervous system" thing. Pretty basic. There's a tower with 20 floors on it. Make it to the top, you win. Before you know it, a whole new world opens up before you. That's where the fun began.... Seven days later now however, the fun is over. Now, if you die in-game, you die out-of-game. The only way out, the only way to shut this all down, is to climb to the 20th floor and beat the final boss. You've sat for seven days, but now you have met some like minded people and are going to try to end this. You will win, and you will end the Soul Cage.

In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagon load of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days' travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found "something big," and that he'd pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin.

Crimson dunes reflect orange light from the setting sun, pools of blood turn to red mud, and the arid desert shifts in the sweeping winds. To protect one's goods from thieves, a merchant must hire Sell Swords whom follow their employer to the ends of the map and just beyond. But it's not for gold or gems these Sell Swords risk their lives, rather it is for the thrill of deadly encounters with enemies from afar, the temptation of forbidden magic kept within forsaken temples, and the endless journey to broaden one's horizon beyond the borders of home. Indeed a Sell Sword does not retire, they die as a legend told by all.

The story does begin in a distant small town. Spring has come and with it came the expected kobold raids. Kobolds have come from the mountains to raid for as long as the oldest memory. This year has been different. The raids are expected but often disorganized with the tribes fighting one another for loot as often as raiding a settlement. This year the raids have been systematic. The tribes are not fighting amongst themselves and rumors persist that say they are fighting together. A bounty is offered for the slaying of kobolds. Messages are sent calling for adventurers willing. Our heroes are traveling west along the road towards the town of Winterhaven in the far western marches of The Kingdom of Oskarlund. The group is answering the call for mercenaries and adventurers to help rid the region of kobold raiders who have graduated from pestilent nuisance to problematic menace. The journey has been miserable. The ground leading into the foothills is rough, rocky grassland spotted with lightly wooded areas. The damp air is filled with a thick mist that only thins well into the midday. Continuous spring rains have turned the road into puddled sludge. The sky remains a solid grey with never less than a constant drizzle soaking the chill deep into the travelers’ bones. At least the wind is minimal.

This isn't an easy task at the best of times, but with the Demon Lords unleashed from the Abyss, it's even more difficult. Escape the Underdark, warn the surfacers of the danger beneath their feet, and return to send the demons back where they came from.

An alarming amount of nefarious activity has been occurring within their borders - small towns and villages have been attacked, caravans looted and farms destroyed. All signs point to an encroachment of goblins, orcs, gnolls, bugbears and their ilk but few remain to tell tales. The standing militia of Shura has not been able to guard the borders as well as maintain the peace in the kingdom. Grand Duke Werrel has sent out messengers to assemble bold adventurers to gather and augment the militia as a precaution but whispers in taverns have revealed that there might be something more sinister behind the attacks.

Little is known at this point and you are the soldiers that have been chosen to be the vanguard of the Gods' response. You have served an evil deity for years. Doing so has allowed you to achieve abilities that make you seem god-like amongst the common folk. Attaining the level of power you now hold has not been easy. You have sacrificed much: lives, morals, contentment, and more. It has all been worth it. The time has come for you to leave this world and take your place among the pantheon of Faerûn. No longer will you be a god among men. Now, you will be a god among gods.
