How to play Dungeons and Dragons Online

Rating: 2 votes, 3.00 average.
If you've been looking for a place to play traditional pen and paper style role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, or Shadowrun you've come to the right place. The members of the Tangled Web all have one thing in common; we love to play RPGs. We have two different ways to play your favorite systems and settings with friends around the world.

The best way to play online RPGs by far is via a Virtual Gaming Table like OpenRPG or MapTool. These virtual game tables allow you to play Dungeons and Dragons online and remain as true to the face to face style of play as possible when you are separated from you friends by thousands of miles.

The other way to play online D&D is by using forums to play by post. Play by Post games use forum based messaging for games. Our integrated forum die roller and character sheet storage functions make our site one of handier places to find and join play by post games.

One thing we've found here at The Tangled Web over the years is that to have an enjoyable online role playing experience, you must be friends with those that you are gaming with. It is for that reason that we created this community. Why not join us and share our table?

You can jump right in by checking out our Online Gaming Forums and RPG Recruiting Area to find out whats going on. If you're the more cautious sort, and would rather do some research, check out OpenRPG and MapTool to learn more about the best tools for playing Dungeons and Dragons online.
